Question:
Please inform us, if you would be so kind, about the Book of al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya, and then recommend some books to me to serve as the foundation for my library? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya is a great book by al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him), a great Islamic history in which he mentioned the news of the past prophets, then he mentioned the news of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his biography, then he mentioned his battles (peace and blessings be upon him), then he mentioned what came after that up to the eighth century, to the middle of the eighth century. It should be acquired and benefited from, for it is a great book in which he mentioned hadiths, athar, and the words of the scholars in history, and it is a good book.
And we advise you to acquire beneficial books such as: Al-Mughni by Muwaffaq al-Din Ibn Qudama, such as: Sharh al-Muhadhdhab by al-Nawawi, such as: Majmu' al-Rasail by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, such as: Majmu'at Rasail A'immah al-Da'wah, such as: Fath al-Majid, such as: Taysir al-'Aziz al-Hamid, an explanation of Kitab al-Tawhid, Kitab al-Tawhid, the books of Shaykh Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), the book Mukhtasar al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, and the Sirah also by his son Abdullah, all of them are good books, Bulugh al-Maram, memorize what is easy of it, 'Umdat al-Hadith, Muntakha al-Akhbar, Nail al-Awtar, an explanation of al-Muntakha, Tafsir al-Shawkani, Tafsir al-Baghawi, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, all of them are beneficial good books.
