Reasons for the Non-Answering of Supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If a Muslim supplicates that Allah grant him children and provision, but his supplication does not seem to be answered, is that due to the non-acceptance of his deeds?

Answer:
The non-answering of supplication has causes, as mentioned earlier. The non-answering has causes; it may be due to the badness of his deeds, his sins, and the abundance of his evil. It may be due to his consumption of what is forbidden and his engagement in what is forbidden. It may be that he supplicates with a heedless, indifferent heart. It may be due to other causes. As it is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
No servant supplicates to Allah with a supplication in which there is no sin and no severing of family ties, but that Allah gives him one of three things: either his supplication is hastened for him in this world, or it is stored for him in the Hereafter, or He averts from him an evil equal to it.
It was said: “O Messenger of Allah! Then should we increase?” He said:
Allah is more.الله أكثر
.
The conclusion is: if a person makes supplications, the non-answering may be due to his sins, his heedlessness, his turning away, and his consumption of what is forbidden. Or the non-answering may be because Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) has chosen for him to compensate him for what he asked for with what benefits him in Paradise and the Hereafter, and that this supplication of his is a compensation for something that benefits him in the Hereafter and in the abode of Refuge.
The matter may also involve another benefit, which is that other evils are averted from him. Allah may have made this supplication of his avert a harm that he had not even thought of, a harm Allah turned away from him because of his supplication, and that may be better for him by the wisdom of Allah in that he is granted this child, or this house, or this wife. It may be that the evil Allah averted from him because of this supplication is more beneficial to him than that thing, as is the case in the hadith. Yes.
