The ruling on saying “Indeed, Allah is with the patient” to the imam so that he prolongs the bowing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Shuqayq Qadir Ali from Yemen has several questions. In his first question, he says: Some people have become accustomed to saying
Indeed, Allah is with the patient.إن الله مع الصابرين
[al-Baqarah:153] when they enter the mosque and find the imam in bowing. They intend by this that the imam should remain in bowing so that they can catch up with him in the unit of prayer. Some imams wait for them, even though this causes hardship for some of the worshippers. What is the ruling on their saying this, and what is the ruling on the imam waiting for them?

Answer:
I do not know a basis for their saying:
Indeed, Allah is with the patient.إن الله مع الصابرين
[al-Baqarah:153], or “Be patient,” or anything similar. We do not know a basis for this, nor do we know of any evil or concern in it.
As for the imam, it is recommended for him to be somewhat deliberate so that those who enter can catch up in a way that does not cause hardship for the worshippers behind him. A group of scholars have explicitly stated this, saying: It is recommended for him to wait for the one who enters, as long as it does not cause hardship for the worshippers. If his waiting is brief and does not burden the people, there is no harm in it; rather, it is recommended for him to do so out of consideration for those entering so that they can catch up with the unit of prayer. It is also recommended for them not to rush, but to be humble and not rush. If they catch up, praise be to Allah; otherwise, they make up the missed unit. They should not rush.
As for the word “Be patient” or
Indeed, Allah is with the patient.إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
[al-Baqarah:153], I do not know a basis for it in the Shari'ah. I do not know of anything that prevents it, in the sense of alerting the imam and reminding him. We do not know of any prohibition in this. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
