Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Or else he does not attain its reward and its rank except by the presence of its causes. As for a person saying, "I am patient," and then not being patient, he does not attain that rank. For this reason, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was afflicted by the painful decrees of Allah more than others. It is established that he said:
He is stricken with fever as two men would be stricken إنه يوعك كما يوعك الرجلان
In the context of death, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was severely afflicted so that this rank, the rank of the patient, would be completed for him, so that he might attain its highest level. He said:
And the patient men and the patient women وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّابِرَاتِ
