Ruling on Giving Zakah to One Who Works for the Zakah Payer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Muhammad Sharif Muhammad from South Khobar sent a message containing a number of questions. In one of his questions, he says: Is it permissible for us to give our wealth zakah and our body zakah to the workers who come to the Kingdom, or is it not permissible?

Answer:
If you know that they are poor and in need, and that their salaries are small and do not suffice for their circumstances and the circumstances of their families, and that they are Muslims, there is nothing wrong with giving them from the zakah, whether wealth zakah or zakat al-fitr. However, if you do not know their circumstances, or if you doubt whether their salaries are sufficient for them or not, do not give to them. Give to others whom you know are poor, and do not risk your wealth; do not risk your zakah. But if you know that they are poor, that they are people of truthfulness, and that they are in need because their salaries do not suffice them due to the large size of their families, and if truthfulness, uprightness, and good conduct are apparent from them, then there is nothing wrong with giving to them if you are reassured about them. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
