Ruling on giving something to the males to the exclusion of the females

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister asks and says: Is it permissible for me to give some of the household furniture and appliances, such as refrigerators, recorders, and durable items, to my male children?

The Shaykh: Repeat, repeat!

The presenter: She says: Is it permissible for me to give some of the household furniture and appliances, such as refrigerators, recorders, and durable items, to my male children so that they become their property after my death? Because the daughters have already been provided for. Is this permissible or not?

Answer:
It is not permissible for you or anyone else to give something to the males to the exclusion of the females; rather, it is obligatory to be just among all of them. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
. Therefore, it is not permissible for you to bequeath something to the sons to the exclusion of the daughters, unless they are mature and agree to it; in that case, there is no blame on you. However, the safest course is not to bequeath to the sons even if the daughters agree, because they may agree out of shyness toward you, while in reality they do not agree. So the safest course for you is never to give the sons anything, even if we assume that the daughters agree, because I fear that they may agree under compulsion or out of shyness. Rather, make what you leave behind for everyone according to the division of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
for the male, what is equal to the share of two femalesلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الأُنثَيَيْنِ
[Al-Nisa: 11]. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
