If one catches the imam in bowing, does he recite the opening supplication?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks and says: If I enter the mosque and find the imam in bowing or prostration, am I to open the prayer in this state? Or is the imam’s opening sufficient for me?

Answer:
If you find him in bowing or prostration, say the takbir and enter with him; there is no need for the opening supplication. Say the takbir and enter with him in bowing, or say the takbir and enter with him in prostration, and praise be to Allah. There is no need for it unless he is standing; in that case, you say the takbir while standing, you make the opening supplication, and then you recite al-Fatihah. Yes.
