Is it prescribed to recite specific surahs in the witr prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return to the message from the listener Muhammad Fadl al-Mawla from Sudan, where we presented some of his questions. Here he asks and says: In the prayer of the odd number and the witr, is it obligatory to recite specific surahs after Surat al-Fatihah? Or is it only obligatory to recite whatever is easy from the Qur'an?

Answer:
It is prescribed to recite whatever is easy, and it is not obligatory. The obligatory part is only Surat al-Fatihah, while what is added to Surat al-Fatihah is recommended. You recite whatever is easy, verses or short or long surahs, according to what is easy for you in your tahajjud at night and in the voluntary prayers during the day. There is nothing specific designated in this; the specific designation is Surat al-Fatihah
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds -الحمد لله رب العالمين
[Al-Fatihah 1:2]
, while what is added to it is recommended and not specific, and praise be to Allah, whether it is a surah you recite or you recite some verses. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
