What does one do if he catches the tashahhud in the Friday prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received for the program from one of the listening brothers, containing ten questions. In one of his questions, he asks and says: What does one do if he enters the mosque on Friday and finds the worshippers in the tashahhud? Does he join the congregation and complete the prayer with two rak'ahs, or does he pray it as four?

Answer:
If one enters on Friday while the people are in the tashahhud, he prays four, he prays the Zuhr; because the Jumu'ah has been missed, it is not caught except with one rak'ah. So if the imam has already bowed the second bowing, and the one entering did not catch them except in the prostration or the tashahhud, he prays the Zuhr as four, if the sun has passed its zenith, if the imam prayed it in its time after the zenith.

The presenter: Yes.

The Shaykh: As for if he prayed it before the zenith, he prays the Zuhr after the zenith, he delays, he does not hasten. If he prays two rak'ahs upon his entry intending them as the greeting of the mosque, there is no harm. He enters with them and prays two rak'ahs with the intention of the greeting of the mosque, if the prayer the imam established was before the zenith; because some imams hasten the Jumu'ah.
And the well-known view is that it is after the zenith. And it is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) what indicates its permissibility before the zenith; for this reason, some scholars adopted this view. But the well-known, the better, and the most cautious for the believer is to pray it after the zenith, as the majority of scholars said; so that he may be free from the disagreement; and so that he may perform the Jumu'ah with certainty.
So if he catches the imam while he is in the tashahhud, and it is after the zenith in the time of the Zuhr, he prays four. He enters with them, and when the imam concludes the prayer, he stands and prays four with the intention of the Zuhr; because the Jumu'ah is not caught except with one rak'ah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. So he joins with those in the tashahhud, and completes four as the prayer of the Zuhr?

The Shaykh: With the intention of the Zuhr, yes.

The presenter: With the intention of the Zuhr.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
