What is the imam’s obligation toward the congregation of his mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the obligation of the mosque imam in his neighborhood and toward his congregation in the mosque?

Answer:
It is obligatory for him to check on them, observe them, and advise them. He should not burden them by delaying the prayer or by hastening it. His prayer should be moderate, in accordance with the instructions given to him by those responsible for the prayer. He prays according to the instruction, warning against delay that harms them or advancement that harms them. He should be mindful of the times set for him, and a slight advancement or delay of five minutes or so does no harm.
The important thing is that he does not delay in a way that harms them, or advance in a way that contradicts the instruction. Rather, he should be careful to follow the instruction. If he delays slightly after the instructions, by five minutes or so, there is no blame in that. He should consider the public benefit in this. Yes.
