What is the woman's obligation toward her religion?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In our time, Your Eminence, may we praise Allah, the means of education have become available: audio tapes, the blessed radio broadcasts that are aired. What is the woman's obligation regarding her religion in terms of learning?

Answer:
It is obligatory for her to learn what is required of her, what is obligatory upon her. As for the recommended practices, it is recommended for her to learn them. It is recommended for her to learn much of the Qur'an. If it is facilitated for her to learn it all or memorize it all, that is better and more excellent.
As for the obligatory, it is not obligatory for her to learn anything other than al-Fatihah, which is obligatory in the prayer. What is added to al-Fatihah is a recommended practice in the prayer. However, if it is facilitated for her to learn short surahs so that she can recite them with al-Fatihah in Fajr, and in the first and second units of Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha', that is better, more excellent, and more beautiful.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
