The wisdom behind the recommended practice of performing ablution before sleep

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the wisdom behind performing ablution before sleep, Your Eminence? This questioner says:

Answer:
Allah knows best, but the fact that one sleeps in a state of ritual purity is a great good and a great virtue.
As for the wisdom—Allah knows best—I do not recall anything clear. However, the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded this and legislated it for the community is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. Sleeping in a state of ritual purity contains much good. Otherwise, as soon as one falls into deep sleep, his ritual purity is invalidated; sleep breaks it. Likewise, if he passes wind, his ritual purity is invalidated. But the fact that he performs ablution and goes to his bed in a state of ritual purity; this is the Sunnah (recommended practice) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
