Combining the Non-Display of Sin with the State of the Hypocrite

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner for the program who actually sent a set of questions. He says: Publicly displaying a sin is considered a sin. Does the one who contradicts the apparent meaning of that commit a sin? How can one reconcile that? May Allah reward you with good. In other words, is it hypocrisy to hide sins and display righteousness?

Answer:
It is obligatory for the Muslim to cover himself with the cover of Allah and not to publicly display a sin. Rather, if he commits it, let him cover himself with the cover of Allah and repent to Allah. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirinكل أمتي معافى إلا المجاهرين
Sahih al-Bukhari 6069
He made them among those who are not of the people of well-being,
All my Ummah are forgiven except those who publicly display their sins. And among public display is that a servant commits a sin at night, then morning comes and Allah has covered it, but he exposes himself and says: I did such and such, and I did such and such.كل أمتي معافى إلا المجاهرين، وإن من المجاهرة أن يفعل العبد معصية في الليل، ثم يصبح وقد ستره الله، فيفضح نفسه ويقول: فعلت كذا وفعلت كذا
.
So, it is obligatory for the Muslim to cover himself with the cover of Allah, not to display sins, and to repent to Allah. If a sin is hidden, it does not harm anyone but its owner. But if it becomes public and is not condemned, it harms the general public.
So, it is obligatory for the one who disobeys to fear Allah, to keep his sin secret, to repent to Allah from it, to strive against his self, and not to publicly display sins. For public display of sins contains great evil: it emboldens others to commit sins so that they may imitate him, and it shows indifference to the sin. If he commits it secretly, he is closer to repenting, so Allah will accept his repentance. This is not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is to hide disbelief and display religion. That is hypocrisy. We ask Allah for well-being. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
