The fourth question of Fatwa number ( 6477 )
Q4: In our school, some students, may Allah guide them, openly commit zina and say, "I did such and such." What is obligatory for me, and is there a sin upon me?
A4: It is obligatory for you to disapprove of him, advise him, and explain to him that zina is among the greatest crimes that undermine the order of families, and among the major sins for which entry into the Fire is threatened. It is also a crime that warrants the application of the hadd punishment in this world for the one who commits it. He should cover himself with the cover of Allah and not publicize sins; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6069 This hadith, and because in his action there is the spreading of indecency among the believers. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, says: [An-Nur 24:19] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
