The ruling on performing the marriage contract in the Sacred Mosque for the sake of seeking blessing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner Ibrahim Abu Hamid says: We hear that some people perform their marriage contract in the Sacred Mosque, saying that it is a blessed place, and hoping that the marriage will likewise be blessed and successful, if Allah wills. What is the ruling in the Shari'ah regarding this, O Shaykh?

Answer:
I am not aware of any evidence for this. There is nothing wrong with performing the contract in any place, whether in the mosque, in the house, or in any other place. I am not aware of any clear evidence for the specific virtue of performing it in the mosque.
I say: Or rather, I do not recall any clear evidence for performing the contract in the mosque. Yes, the marriage contract, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
