The Ruling on Reciting al-Fatihah by the Ma'mum in the Audible Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If we are in an audible prayer, and the imam recites al-Fatihah in the first rak'ah, and as soon as he finishes reciting al-Fatihah he does not pause after it, but continues, is it incumbent upon the ma'mum to recite al-Fatihah? Or should he listen to the imam? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
He recites.

The presenter: He recites al-Fatihah?

The Shaykh: If he has not recited it, he recites it. Even if the imam is reciting, he recites while the imam is reciting al-Fatihah, and then he listens; because al-Fatihah is obligatory upon him according to the correct opinion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Perhaps you recite behind your imam?لعلكم تقرؤون خلف إمامكم؟
Sunan Abi Dawud 823Da'if (Al-Albani)
We said: Yes. He said:
Do not do so except when it is Fatihat al-Kitab, for he who does not recite it is not credited with having prayed.لا تفعلوا إلا بفاتحة الكتاب، فإنه لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بها
Sunan Abi Dawud 823Da'if (Al-Albani)
And from this, the obligation of reciting al-Fatihah is derived. However, if there is a long pause by the imam, he recites during the pause. But if the imam does not pause, or pauses only briefly, he recites al-Fatihah and completes it, even if it is concurrent with his imam's recitation, and then he listens.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
