What is obligatory for one who repents from abandoning the prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner Yusuf Ibrahim from Raqqa, Syria, says: Your Eminence! I am asking about making up the prayer in the case where a person was not praying, and he reached an age after puberty and the obligations, and Allah guided him to prayer; is it obligatory for him to make up what he missed of the prayer? Or does the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Islam wipes out what came before itالإسلام يجب ما قبله
include him?

Answer:
Yes, if a person was not praying, and then Allah guided him; repentance wipes out what came before it, and Islam wipes out what came before it, and likewise if a woman was not praying, and then Allah guided her; there is no making up for them, repentance is sufficient, and praise be to Allah.
He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Islam wipes out what came before it, and repentance wipes out what came before itالإسلام يجب ما قبله، والتوبة تجب ما قبلها
So whoever was not praying; it is obligatory for him to repent to Allah, return to Allah, and turn back to Him, and he does not have to make up what he missed... and praise be to Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
