Ruling on making up missed prayers and fasts for one who repents from abandoning them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received for the program from one of the listening brothers. In his questions in this message, he says: If a person does not pray and does not fast during a period of his life, then he repents, establishes the prayer, and fasts Ramadan, is it obligatory for him to make up the prayers and the fasts? Or is it not?

Answer:
The correct view is that it is not obligatory for him to do so, and repentance is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. Sincere, genuine repentance is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Repentance wipes out what came before it, and Islam demolishes what was before itالتوبة تجب ما قبلها، والإسلام يهدم ما كان قبله
And one who abandons the prayer commits disbelief by that. So if he embraces Islam and repents, he does not have to repeat [the acts] like other disbelievers. If he apostatized like others who apostatized, then returned, he does not make up [the missed acts]. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
