The Ruling on Performing Voluntary Prayer in the Workplace

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it better for an employee to perform voluntary prayer in the office where he works for seven hours a day, which is considered like his home, or is it not?

Answer:
If his prayer in the office does not interrupt his work, and he has free time... then it is recommended... the Duha prayer is a good thing. However, if his prayer interrupts his work, or reduces his work; then no, he should continue with his work, and that is sufficient. His prayer in his office is like his prayer at home, provided that it does not interrupt his work, harm his work, or reduce his work, but rather he has free time. This is a good deed, seizing the opportunity for good. Striving for good is a required matter, in the office, in travel, in residence, and in every place. For the believer to seize the opportunity for glorification, the declaration of Allah's oneness, praise, reciting the Qur'an, performing voluntary prayer, calling to Allah, enjoining good and forbidding evil... and so on, this is a required matter wherever he is, on the condition that it does not harm his obligatory work, nor interrupt it. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
