The ruling on a man marrying his father's wife's daughter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, we move on to Sudan via a message sent by the listener Abdullah Abd al-Rahman al-Sayyid—apparently our brother has a case that may be somewhat confusing. He says: My grandfather, from my father's side, married a woman, but she did not bear him any children, and he divorced her. Then another man from among the relatives came and married her, and she bore him daughters. I proposed to marry one of the daughters, and when I proposed, my father asked some people, and they said: She is not permissible for me. There was disagreement on this matter, and their disagreement alarmed me; so I turned to Allah, then to you, hoping to hear the decisive word. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no blame on you in marrying the daughters of your father's wife from a father other than your father, from the new husband, provided that she did not breastfeed you; for you are a stranger to her daughters, if she did not breastfeed you. In that case, you may marry one of her daughters from the new husband. They are only forbidden to your father because they are stepdaughters to your father; they are forbidden to him if he had intercourse with their mother, if he had intercourse with their mother, they are forbidden to your father. But not to you; they are not forbidden to you. There is nothing wrong with marrying one of her daughters, and there is no basis for disagreement on this. There is no disagreement on this, praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
