Marriage to the daughter of one's father's wife

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I previously married one of my relatives, and her father married my sister in exchange. Is this marriage permissible, given that each woman received a mahr consisting of money and a camel? Please inform me whether this marriage is valid in this form, or whether it is a marriage of shighar? May Allah reward you with the best reward.

Answer: If this marriage was with a mahr for each woman, the mahr of the like for each, and no injustice was done to any of her rights, and it was with her consent and choice, where each woman agreed to the other husband and was not forced into it, then this marriage is valid, with no defect in it.
However, if this marriage and the exchange were without the consent of the two women, or if there was an infringement of the woman's right, such as a reduction in her mahr, or without a mahr, then this is a marriage of shighar, and it is not permissible.

Answer: There is no harm in that. It is permissible for a man to marry the daughter of his father's wife if this daughter is from another man, as stated in the question, because there is no kinship between him and her, unless there is breastfeeding, where he was breastfed by her mother, or she was breastfed by his mother. In that case, she is forbidden due to breastfeeding. But if no breastfeeding took place, there is no relationship between them, and it is permissible for him to marry her. And Allah knows best.
