Fatwa number ( 15257 )
Q: Jaza' married a widow who had a son named 'Abdullah from her previous husband. This wife bore Jaza' sons and daughters, and then she passed away. Jaza' then married another woman, who also bore him sons and daughters. Is it permissible for one of Jaza's sons from the second woman to marry one of the daughters of 'Abdullah’s daughters? It is known that he does not know whether 'Abdullah was breastfed by his mother when Jaza' married her or not, knowing that she remained after the death of
her husband for three years without marrying. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward. And peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
A: If the matter is as described, it is permissible for one of Jaza's sons to marry one of the daughters of 'Abdullah, the son of his wife from her previous husband; because the original ruling is the absence of anything that prevents marriage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
