Does the regular voluntary prayer (sunnah rawatib) suffice in place of the two rak'ahs of greeting the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners, who indicated his name with the letters (H. N. S. N). Our brother has a number of questions, among them a question about the regular voluntary prayers (sunnah rawatib). For example: Does the regular voluntary prayer suffice in place of the greeting of the mosque? May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
The regular voluntary prayers (sunnah rawatib) preserved in the authentic hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) are twelve rak'ahs: four before the midday prayer (two units), two after the midday prayer, two after the sunset prayer, two after the night prayer, and two before the dawn prayer. These are the regular voluntary prayers. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be consistent in performing them (peace and blessings be upon him): he would pray two units before the midday prayer, one unit after the midday prayer, one unit after the sunset prayer, one unit after the night prayer, and one unit before the dawn prayer. And he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
May Allah mercy on a person who prays four Rak'at before the 'Asr prayer.رحم الله امرأً صلى أربعًا قبل العصر
Bulugh al-Maram 2:263
It is recommended to pray four before the afternoon prayer, but they are not regular voluntary prayers.
Likewise, he would pray two rak'ahs between the two calls to prayer, after the call to the sunset prayer and the call to the night prayer, between the call to prayer and the second call, due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Between the two adhans there is a prayer, between the two adhans there is prayerبين كل أذانين صلاة، بين كل أذانين صلاة
Sunan Abi Dawud 1283Sahih (Al-Albani)
meaning the call to prayer and the second call. So this is recommended, but not a regular voluntary prayer. After the call to the sunset prayer and after the call to the night prayer, he would pray two rak'ahs. And if he prayed the greeting of the mosque, the requirement was fulfilled. So if he prayed two rak'ahs when he entered the mosque, the requirement was fulfilled.
And likewise, the regular voluntary prayers: if he prayed the voluntary prayer of the midday prayer in the mosque, the requirement was fulfilled. And likewise, the voluntary prayer of the dawn: if he prayed it in the mosque, the requirement was fulfilled, and it sufficed in place of the greeting of the mosque. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
