How many rak'ahs are the rawatib before and after the midday prayer, and is the greeting of the mosque considered part of the pre-prayer sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : How many rak'ahs are the rawatib before and after the midday prayer? And is the greeting of the mosque considered part of the pre-prayer sunnah? Please inform us of this.

The Shaykh : The midday prayer has six rak'ahs of rawatib: four rak'ahs with two taslims before the prayer, and two rak'ahs after it. These are among the regular voluntary prayers (rawatib) that one should not neglect.
The rawatib suffices for the greeting of the mosque, but the greeting of the mosque does not suffice for the rawatib. Accordingly, if you enter after the adhan for the midday prayer, pray and intend the rawatib with that, because if you intend the greeting and then the iqamah is called before you finish, you will have missed the pre-prayer rawatib. So we say: intend the rawatib, and if you intend the rawatib, it suffices for the greeting of the mosque.
As for the regular voluntary prayer (sunnah rawatib) after the prayer, it is only two rak'ahs. If he adds two rak'ahs to it, that is better, because it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he said:
Whoever prays four rak'ahs before Zuhr and four after it, Allah (SWT) will forbid him from the Fire. من صلى أربعاً بعد الظهر وأربعاً بعدها حرمه الله على النار

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
