Does the righteous person suffer from the punishment of the wrongdoer if they are in the same grave?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Mu'ayyad Abdullah al-Shahri from Riyadh sent a question, saying: We have a burial place in the form of an underground room, where the deceased is placed. After a year, this grave is opened, and another deceased is placed in it. So, is the sinner punished, and does the righteous person suffer in the same grave? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Sunnah is that every person is buried separately, if possible, when the land is spacious and it is possible to bury each one separately. This is the Sunnah, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did in al-Baqi', where the deceased were buried, each one separately. However, if there is a dire necessity and no place is available except in this manner, there is no blame on them. Every person is held accountable for his own sin. The righteous person is rewarded for his righteousness, and the wrongdoer is punished for his wrongdoing
and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of anotherوَلا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
[Al-An'am: 164].
But as much as possible, it is prescribed that each person be buried separately, each grave separately, and they should not be gathered in one place. We ask Allah for safety and well-being.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
