What are the characteristics of the Shari'ah hijab for women?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In some Islamic countries, women believe that the hijab is covering the head, ears, and chin. What is your guidance for them?

Answer:
The hijab is covering the entire body. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
[Al-Ahzab: 53]. It is covering the head, face, and the entire body. This is the hijab. They were granted a dispensation in the early days of Islam not to wear the hijab, so a woman would sit with a man and speak to him while uncovered. Then Allah commanded the hijab for the faces and the rest of the body, as Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said when the incident of the slander occurred and Safwan passed by her at the place where the people had left her. She said: "When he saw me, he recognized me, for he had seen me before the hijab, so I covered my face."
The point is that before the hijab, a woman would be uncovered and speak to men, sit with men, and address them. Then Allah revealed the verse of the hijab, which is His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
[Al-Ahzab: 53]. They were commanded to wear the hijab and prohibited from being uncovered, because that entails danger and fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). The hijab provides concealment, well-being, and distance from evil. And Allah has the perfect wisdom , and He is the Wise, the All-Knowing, (Exalted and Majestic is He).
