Ruling on accepting a gift from a father who does not pray

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Her last question says: My father, unfortunately, does not pray. He sometimes gives me some money on occasions, such as the festivals, for example. Is it permissible for me to take it? And if I take it and give it in charity, is the charity valid or not? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with taking the money from your father, and there is nothing wrong with giving it in charity or benefiting from it. There is no blame in that, along with advising your father with kind words... warning him of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He)... encouraging him to pray...
Likewise, encourage your uncles—if you have uncles—or older brothers to advise him, or good neighbors to advise him. Do not neglect this, and let your brothers and uncles not neglect it either. You must fear Allah regarding him, advise him, and continue doing so. As for his gift, accept it; there is no blame in that. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
