The ruling on one who habitually fasts 'Ashura but misses fasting it due to forgetfulness

Question:
A message was sent by one of the listening brothers containing two questions. He says: I am a person who fasts the Day of 'Arafah annually, as well as 'Ashura. However, I forgot the Day of 'Ashura last year, where I broke my fast for half of the day, forgetting that it was the Day of 'Ashura. But I completed my fast, and I fasted the eleventh day. Is my action valid?

Answer:
Fasting the entirety of 'Ashura is good. So if you fasted whatever was easy for you, praise be to Allah. We hope for you the reward for the day that you missed due to forgetfulness; because you left it not intentionally, but out of forgetfulness. So you have its reward, if Allah wills. And your fasting on the eleventh day is good; because the tenth day was missed by you through forgetfulness, so you have its reward, just as if you had left it due to illness, then recovered on the eleventh day. Yes.
