Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: My Shaykh, yesterday Abu 'Ammar mentioned to me that the Shaykh was telling them, this Shaykh of the mosque, that:
Whoever sleeps at 'Arafah, Allah places an angel above his head who seeks forgiveness for him. من نام في عرفات جعل الله فوق رأسه ملك يستغفر له
!!

The Shaykh : This is a superstitious, ignorant man, meaning, as they say: he chews on the old jurisprudence that was based on a lack of refinement.
The student: Allahu Akbar !!

The Shaykh : He reads the book *Tanbih al-Ghafilin* (The Awakening of the Negligent) and *Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din* (The Revival of the Religious Sciences), and that is his merchandise.
The student: Today in the Fajr prayer he said: "O Allah, we ask You by the right of our brothers standing at 'Arafah."

The Shaykh : May Allah guide him.
The student: So Abu Umajd asked me, and I said to him: "My brother, this supplication is an overreach; this is not permissible."

The questioner :
The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of `Arafah خير الدعاء دعاء يوم عرفة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3585Da’if (Darussalam)

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Does this mean for those on Hajj and for those who are not on Hajj?

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is it general like that?
