The ruling on one who vowed to slaughter and fast if Allah guided her son

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Following this, a message was received for the program from a group of female listeners. One of them says: Umm Muhammad from... asks and says: O His Eminence the Shaykh, I have a son who is twenty-five years old. He used to pray, but he prayed at home, not in the mosque. He was disliked by his uncles, and they ostracized him, saying to his father: Drive him out of the house, because he shaves his beard and does not pray in the mosque. But his father did not listen to their words. And I, his mother, out of the severity of what I was suffering, said: I have a vow upon me with Allah that if my son is guided, I will fast a full month. And I said: I will slaughter two sheep. I do not know if I said this before the fasting or after it. So is it permissible for me to slaughter them after the end of the fasting? And is this considered a vow, and am I sinful if I do not fulfill it? Guide us, may Allah reward you with good. Knowing that my son has been guided, he has stopped shaving his beard, and he now prays in the mosque, praise be to Allah.

Answer:
Praise be to Allah who guided him. We ask Allah for steadfastness upon the truth for us and for him, and for continuation in good. You must fulfill your vow of fasting and slaughtering. You must do that, whether you slaughter before the fasting or after the fasting; the matter is broad. Do not return to making vows in the future. Do not make vows in the future. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited vows. He said:
It does not (necessarily) bring good (in the form of substantial, and tangible results), but it is the meant whereby something is extracted from the miserly persons.إنه لا يأت بخير، وإنما يستخرج به من البخيل
Sahih Muslim 1639c
But he said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.من نذر أن يطيع الله؛ فليطعه، ومن نذر أن يعصي الله؛ فلا يعصه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2126Sahih (Darussalam)
So you must fulfill the vow, and be cautious in the future regarding vows. As for this, you must fulfill the fasting and the sacrificial animal. Yes.
The sacrificial animal is to be for the poor, unless you have the intention to slaughter it at home and invite the neighbors, or relatives, or specific people to it, then do so. But if you do not have such an intention, slaughter it and give it in charity to the poor.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
