A vow made in a place where slaughter is performed for other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 5667 )
Q 3: My mother made an old vow, which was that when her brother returns from his trip, she would slaughter an animal for him. However, this vow is not clear; did she vow to Allah, or to a wali (close friend of Allah), or to a shaykh (a scholar or teacher)? Allah knows best. And the place of the vow is a place where slaughter is performed for other than Allah .
A 3: As long as the place is one where slaughter is performed for other than Allah, it is not permissible to fulfill the vow. Imam Abu Dawud narrated in (al-Sunan) from Thabit ibn al-Dahhak (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
A man vowed to slaughter camels at Bawānah, so he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Is there an idol among the idols of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance that is worshipped there?" They said: "No." He said: "Was there a festival among their festivals there?" They said: "No." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fulfill your vow, for there is no fulfillment of a vow in disobedience to Allah, nor in what the son of Adam does not own."
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:1048
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
