The Ruling on Performing Wudu After a Minor State of Ritual Impurity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The female listener to the program (K. A. S.) asks: Is it obligatory to perform wudu after every instance of cleaning oneself from a minor state of ritual impurity?

Answer:
It is obligatory to perform wudu for prayer, or for touching the mushaf, or for tawaf if one is in Makkah. As for if one enters a state of minor ritual impurity and does not intend to pray, there is no wudu required of him. If he urinates, defecates, or passes wind in the late morning, there is no wudu required of him. However, when the time for the midday prayer arrives, he performs wudu. Or if he enters a state of impurity after the midday prayer, there is no wudu required of him, so when the time for the afternoon prayer arrives, he performs wudu for the afternoon prayer... and so on. Wudu is for its obligatory causes: for prayer, or for touching the mushaf, or for tawaf, or when one intends to sleep. If he wants to sleep, he performs wudu so that he sleeps in a state of ritual purity. This is what is prescribed.
As for if he enters a state of impurity in the late morning, it does not require him to perform wudu; he cleans himself from urine and feces, and that is sufficient. Or if he does so after the midday prayer, he cleans himself and that is sufficient. When the time for prayer arrives, he performs wudu. Yes.
