The ruling on one who forgets to pay zakat al-fitr before the Eid prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Muhammad Husaywi from Makkah al-Mukarramah says: Your Eminence! I wanted to give the alms given at the end of Ramadan before the festival prayer; because that is what is best. But before dawn I went to sleep, and I did not wake up until seven o'clock, and I did not give the alms given at the end of Ramadan. What is the ruling on this action? And what is obligatory for me?
Answer:
It is obligatory to give it after the prayer, and praise be to Allah, along with repentance and seeking forgiveness. Give it after the prayer, and praise be to Allah, as making up a missed act of worship. The recommended practice is to give it before the festival prayer if it is feasible. And if a person gives it one day or two days before the festival, as the Companions of the Prophet did, there is nothing wrong with it; because the time between the dawn prayer and the festival prayer is narrow, a narrow time, and not everyone is able to do that. So if he gives it one day or two days before the prayer, there is nothing wrong with it. Yes.
