Question:
Also, she has a matter regarding which she asked at length. To summarize what you are asking, Your Eminence: she wants guidance on how to love the Noble Qur'an and occupy her time with memorizing it. How is that to be done? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
We advise her to read the Qur'an when her mind is clear—when she has free time—so that she becomes accustomed to it, finds rest in it, and feels at peace with it. She should look for suitable times during the night and day when she has no distractions, then read and recite from the beginning to the end, according to her capacity: half a juz, one juz, or two juz, depending on what is made easy for her. Allah will expand her chest, and she will find the sweetness of faith and the sweetness of the Qur'an. She will know that it is the speech of Allah, and that Allah gives her a good deed for every letter, and that a good deed is multiplied tenfold. It is prescribed for her to reflect and read. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And Allah the Exalted says: [Surah Sad: 29].
So she should feel at ease with this great Book, knowing that it is the speech of Allah, that she is rewarded for reading it, and that Allah gives her a good deed for every letter, and that a good deed is multiplied tenfold. This is a great good. The believer seeks out the suitable times when his heart is free—his mind is free—whether at night or during the day, so that he reads with a tranquil soul, one that is eager, reflecting, pondering, and understanding, so that he benefits, so that he is humbled by the speech of Allah, and so that he finds sweetness in his heart. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
