What is the ruling on borrowing money in order to buy books of Islamic law?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a Muslim to borrow money in order to buy books of Islamic law for the purpose of reading, learning, and understanding the religion? And is it obligatory for him to sell these books if he is unable to pay off the debt he owes?

Answer:
If he has means and earnings from which he can pay it off, there is no harm in borrowing, provided he has the means to repay. But if he does not, and he has nothing, he should not borrow, because borrowing in that case is a loss of people's rights. So he should not borrow; rather, he should contact libraries and read in the libraries that have the books, and borrow from his brothers... and benefit from them. There is no need to borrow. And if he did borrow and made a mistake by borrowing, and he has no means to repay, he should sell them and pay off the debt. He should sell them... and pay the creditors, and he should not be lax regarding the rights of a Muslim. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
