The ruling on one who is not certain that he performed the Tawaf of Ifadah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence! This questioner from Yemen asks: What is the ruling on one who left the Tawaf of Ifadah in Hajj, and he is not remembering whether he performed it or not?

Answer:
It is obligatory for him to perform the Tawaf. The Tawaf is a pillar that is necessary; it is one of the pillars of Hajj, the Tawaf around the House. So he must be certain that he performed it, or else he must perform it. Its time is after departing from 'Arafah and Muzdalifah. He performs it on the Day of 'Id, or on the last night of 'Id, or on the second day of 'Id, or on the third day of 'Id, or after that. However, it is better to do it during the days of 'Id; on the Day of 'Id and after it is better. If he performs it after the days of 'Id, there is no harm, but the Tawaf is necessary. He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
Then let them end their untidiness and fulfill their vows and perform Tawaf around the ancient House."ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا تَفَثَهُمْ وَلْيُوفُوا نُذُورَهُمْ وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ
[Al-Hajj:29]. This is the Tawaf of Ifadah; it is necessary, a pillar without which Hajj is not completed. Even if it is after a month, or two months, whenever he remembers, he performs it. Even if it is in Muharram, or in Safar. And if he is outside Makkah, he is obligated to return; he goes back to Makkah and performs the Tawaf with the intention of Hajj. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
