Q: I performed the obligatory Hajj three years ago, praise be to Allah, and my Hajj was ifrad. I entered the state of ihram from the miqat at Wadi Mahram , prayed two rak'ahs, then recited the talbiyah for Hajj. Then I headed to Makkah and performed the tawaf of arrival, then prayed two rak'ahs. After that, I do not remember whether I performed the sa'y or not. On the eighth day, I headed to Mina and stayed there, remaining until the Fajr prayer. Then I headed with the pilgrims to 'Arafah and stayed there until sunset. Then I headed to Muzdalifah and stayed there until the Fajr prayer. Then I headed to the jamarat and stoned the Jamarat al-'Aqabah. After that, I shaved my head. Then, I do not remember whether I performed the tawaf of ifadah and the sa'y or not . Then I stayed for the last three days in Mina to stone the jamarat. After the stoning, I went to Makkah and performed only the tawaf of farewell. Please inform us, may Allah reward you a thousand times for good, whether I completed what was lacking in my Hajj to remove the doubt, and whether I am required to sacrifice an animal, and whether it is sufficient to give it in charity to one person or more. Also, I wish to repeat the Hajj if that is permissible. Is it better to perform Hajj as ifrad, following my first Hajj, or as qiran, or as tamattu'? Please inform us, may Allah reward you and the Muslims with good.
A: It is obligatory for you to perform the tawaf of ifadah and the sa'y of Hajj. You owe a sacrificial animal if you had sexual intercourse with your wife during the period mentioned.
And you must refrain from your wife until you perform the tawaf and the sa'y. If you delay in Makkah after your tawaf of ifadah and sa'y, you are required to perform a tawaf of farewell, because the tawaf of farewell you performed previously occurred in the wrong place, as it took place before the tawaf of ifadah and the sa'y. You must repent to Allah, the Exalted, for delaying this inquiry for such a long period. Your Hajj is valid. If you wish to perform Hajj in the future, the best for you is the Hajj of tamattu'; that is, you perform 'Umrah in the months of Hajj, and after completing it, you enter the state of ihram for Hajj on the eighth day with the people.
