Explaining the Method of Seeking Knowledge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner from Hawtat Banu Tamim, whose name is indicated by the initials (F. S. K), states that he is a young man of fifteen years old who desires to seek religious knowledge. What is your advice, Your Eminence, for someone like him? And what are the matters that he must act upon and embody? He says: Knowing that our city has few callers to Allah and students of knowledge. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise him to seek knowledge in the schools that the government has opened, namely the middle schools and high schools, or the scientific institutes... He should strive to enroll in them. If they have circles of knowledge for the people of knowledge, such as judges or others, he should attend the circles of knowledge if it is facilitated at night or during the day, combining this with that. He should enroll in the regular schools, strive, and read to the scholars in his town if they have circles of knowledge at night or during the day. He should attend the circles, benefit from them, and strive to memorize the Noble Qur'an and memorize the beneficial books, such as the Book of Tawhid, Kashf al-Shubuhat, The Three Fundamental Principles, and The Four Bases by Shaykh Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab. Also, the Al-Wasitiyyah Creed by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. These are good and important books that he should memorize. And like the Nawawi Forty, and its completion by Ibn Rajab, fifty hadiths from the summaries of speech. He should memorize these great and beneficial hadiths.
In any case, the advice for this young man is to strive in seeking knowledge in the regular schools. And as for the shaykhs, if they have someone to read to them in the circles of knowledge, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
