The Ruling on Omitting the Iqamah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner who sent a set of questions. The questioner, Hamidan al-Subhi, says: What is the ruling for one who forgets to recite the iqamah and does not remember it until after the opening takbir? Does he complete the prayer? Or what does he do? And what is the ruling on the prayer he performed without the iqamah? Please guide us, Your Eminence.

Answer:
There is no blame on him for that; it is dropped, and praise be to Allah, because it is a collective obligation. So if he did not recite the iqamah, there is no blame on him, and his prayer is valid. It is not invalidated on account of the iqamah; rather, he continues and completes it, and praise be to Allah. Yes.
