What is stated in the Sunnah regarding striking a woman?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is reported in the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the permissibility of striking a woman?

Answer:
I know of nothing except what is in the Qur'an, for the Qur'an explicitly states this:
But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike themوَاللَّاتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَاهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ
[Surat al-Nisa: 34], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
You have a right to their provision and clothing in a good manner, and they have a right that they do not allow those you dislike to sit on your beds, and that they do not allow into your homes those you dislike. If they do so, then strike them with a non-harmful strike.
meaning: not severe, such that it achieves discipline, but does not cause harm.
