What is the ruling on one who is compelled by his guarantor to sell tobacco?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some of them sell tobacco, and they claim that it is not for them, but for their guarantor?

Answer:
No, one should not assist in falsehood. Selling tobacco is forbidden, just like selling intoxicants. One should not assist, even if it is not his own. He should not become a broker or an agent in the sale of what is forbidden. Allah says:
but do not cooperate in sin and aggressionوَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
[Al-Ma'idah: 2]. The one who sells intoxicants, or sells tobacco, or sells anything that Allah has forbidden, becomes a partner to the one who appointed him, assisting him in sin.
Q: If one of the people refuses this, his guarantor may send him back to his country, while he is in dire need of obtaining a means of livelihood. So what should he do in such a situation?
A: No, one should not cooperate in deception, or in what is forbidden, or in the sale of what is forbidden. Obedience is only in what is good. There is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to the Creator. However, he should refer the matter to the court, so that he is not enabled to be lenient. He should go to the court, or to the prince if he is in a country that has a prince.
