What is the reward of forgiveness and pardon in this world and the Hereafter?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A labor contractor became notorious for oppressing the workers under his control. His oppression included depriving them of their wages. Some of them cursed this contractor and prayed extensively against him. Now, this contractor is suffering from a malignant disease. We ask Allah for health for you and for us. One of those who suffered this great injustice is hesitant to forgive and pardon him for what he endured. What do you advise, Your Eminence? And what is the reward and recompense for one who forgives and pardons in this world and the Hereafter? Because the contractor’s people are asking for that.

Answer:
So whoever forgives and makes things right, may Allah reward him with good. Forgiveness is good. If he forgives, may Allah reward them with good. Allah says:
And to forego it is nearer to righteousnessوَأَنْ تَعْفُوا أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى
[al-Baqarah: 237], and He says:
but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allahفَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ
[al-Shura: 40], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honorما زاد الله عبدًا بعفو إلا عزًا
Sahih Muslim 2588
He should pray for their healing and health and give them their rights. He must give them their rights and not oppress them. They are praying for him, and he must give them their rights so that the oppression does not have a bad outcome. Even if he is good, he must give them their rights, and he has no right to oppress them. Because they are poor workers, he must give them their rights, even if he is the healthiest person in the world. He must give them their rights.
So what if he is punished and their prayers affect him? He should repent to Allah and ask his Lord for health, and he should hasten to give them their rights. Even if they pardon him and pray for his health, he must hasten to give them their rights and ask them for pardon. Because if he has oppressed them by delaying their rights or denying some of them... We ask Allah for health.
