What is the method for forgiving others?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
There is a group of people in my country who conspired to oppress me, and now, praise be to Allah, Allah has relieved my distress, and I want to forgive them, considering that this is decreed by Allah . What is the best method you advise me to follow? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If they have oppressed you and you wish to forgive them, you will be rewarded, and you will have great good and a great virtue; for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
And to forego it is nearer to righteousnessوَأَنْ تَعْفُوا أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى
[al-Baqarah: 237], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honorما زاد الله عبدًا بعفو إلا عزًا
Sahih Muslim 2588
, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allahفَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ
[al-Shura: 40]. So you are in great good. If they oppressed you in your absence, or in wealth, or by insulting you, or the like of that, and you forgive them, you will be rewarded. May Allah reward you with good.

The presenter: So, what is the method, if you permit?

The Shaykh: The method is that he informs them so that it is more complete, that he has forgiven them, and he does not demand anything from them if they have oppressed him as he said. And if he does not inform them, there is no harm. The point is forgiveness; if he forgives them, his reward is with Allah . If they oppressed him by taking something from his wealth, or beating him, or insulting him, or the like of that oppression, and he forgives them, his reward is with Allah.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
