Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
It is reported in "Sahih Muslim" in the chapter on trials: From Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
Soon, no grain or silver will be brought to Iraqيوشِك ألا يُجبى إلى العراق قفيزٌ ولا درهمٌ
, we asked: "From what?" He said:
From the non-Arabs; they will prevent thatمن العجم، يمنعون ذاك
, does this point to the economic blockade imposed on Iraq today? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Shaykh: This has already happened many times; it has been a long time. Iraq was prevented from sending its grain, and Sham was prevented from sending its dirhams and dinars. It has passed; they prevented it from reaching Madinah, Makkah, and the Arabian Peninsula. They may also be prevented from receiving it from other forces among the disbelievers. There is no objection to this being included in that; there is no objection to it being included in that. And Allah knows best. But this blockade is severe; it prevents Iraq from its dirhams and grain and everything else it has, and it prevents others from delivering good to them as well. It is a type of what falls under the hadith.
