The Ruling on Using the IUD and Pills to Prevent Pregnancy

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A woman asks: Regarding the use of the IUD, knowing that it kills the ovum after fertilization, and not before it, what is its ruling?

Answer:
They do it to prevent pregnancy, and leaving it is more preferable. So leaving the IUD and the pills is more preferable. And if she becomes pregnant, except in case of need; if pregnancy harms her, or if she has many children, and she and her husband agree on that; there is no harm, if Allah wills.
Q: And in case of need, does she use the IUD?
A: The IUD and the pills; because it prevents pregnancy temporarily.
