Explanation of the words of Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): "And a verb is substituted for a verb, like one who *** reaches us, seeks our help, and is afflicted."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And a verb is substituted for a verb, like one who *** reaches us, seeks our help, and is afflicted":
May Allah reward you with good, how generous you are! A verb is substituted!
The student: Seeking help from Allah.

The Shaykh : Yes, he reaches us and seeks our help, and it is permissible,
And assisting a man to ride upon his beast وتعين الرجل في دابته
Sahih Muslim 1009
, he said: "And a verb is substituted for a verb": and a name for a name?
The student: It has passed.

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: It has passed.

The Shaykh : You were ahead, okay.
"And a verb is substituted for a verb, like one who *** reaches us, seeks our help, and is afflicted":
Let us look at the grammatical analysis so that it becomes clear: "man" is a conditional noun that governs two verbs; "yasil" is a present tense verb, the verb of the condition, governed by "man"; "ilayna" is a preposition and its object, attached to "yasil"; "yasta'in" here?
The student: Substitute.

The Shaykh : It is a substitute for "yasil," as if he said: "whoever seeks our help," yes, okay. "Yasta'in" is a present tense verb, governed by sukun, as a substitute for what?
The student: "Yasil."

The Shaykh : "Yasil." "Bana" is a preposition and its object, attached to "yasta'in." "Yu'an" is a present tense verb, passive in form, and it is governed as the answer to the condition. And previously, we gave as an example the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection ومن يفعل ذلك يلق أثاماً يضاعف له العذاب يوم القيامة
[Al-Furqan 25:68-69]
"yud'a'af" with sukun, as a substitute for what?
The student: "Yalq."

The Shaykh : "Yalq." And with this, the chapter on substitutes and followers has also ended; this is the last chapter on followers.
