Titles of Some Beneficial Books

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I hope you will direct us to the beneficial and useful books in this world and the religion?

A: The useful books are numerous. The greatest and most important of them is the Book of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) , which contains guidance and light, and the call to all good, and the explanation of noble character and excellent deeds, and the explanation of what Allah has made obligatory and what He has prepared for the people of His obedience in terms of good, and the explanation of what Allah has forbidden and what He has prepared for the people of His disobedience in terms of punishment.
So the greatest book, the noblest book, and the most beneficial book is the great Book of Allah, the Qur'an. Then comes the book of the authentic Sunnah, such as al-Bukhari and Muslim, and others of the well-known books of the Sunnah, such as Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, Sunan al-Darimi, Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and Muwatta Malik (may Allah have mercy on them all). These are among the most beneficial books.
But as for the students who have not yet mastered knowledge, and likewise the female students who have not mastered knowledge, we advise them all to memorize the noble Book of Allah, along with memorizing the concise works on creed and the noble hadith. For example: the book (Tawhid) by Imam Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab, and (The Three Fundamental Principles) by him as well, and (Clarification of Doubts) by him as well, and (The Intermediate Creed) by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him), and (Bulugh al-Maram) by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, and (Umdat al-Hadith) by al-Hafiz 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi, and (The Nawawi Forty) and its completion by al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab, and (The Etiquettes of Walking to Prayer) by Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him), and reading the following books: (Fath al-Majid), (Riyad al-Salihin), (Al-Wabil al-Sayyib), (Zad al-Ma'ad), and (Jami' al-'Ulum wa al-Hukm) by al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab... and similar beneficial, concise books.
