The ruling on one who commits a crime with the intention of repenting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A reader whose name is indicated by the letters (Th. K. T.) sent us a message saying:
Q: Satan led me astray and I committed the crime of zina (unlawful sexual intercourse). I know it is a heinous crime, and I want to repent to Allah . Will Allah accept my repentance? I should mention that I used to say: "I will do it and then repent." Do I have a chance of repentance?

A: The door of repentance remains open until the sun rises from the west. Whoever repents to Allah with sincere repentance from shirk (associating partners with Allah) and what is less than it, Allah will accept his repentance. Sincere repentance consists of: ceasing the sins, feeling remorse for what has passed, and making a firm resolve not to return to them, out of fear of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and exaltation of Him, and hope for His pardon and forgiveness. As Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.
[Surah al-Tahrim: 8] And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
[Surah al-Nur: 31] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
[Surah al-Zumar: 53] The scholars have reached consensus that this verse was revealed regarding those who repent.
A fourth condition is added to the three conditions mentioned for the validity of repentance when the rights belong to other human beings: that one must fulfill their rights, whether in money or otherwise, or seek their forgiveness; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever has an injustice against his brother, whether in his honor or something else, let him seek his forgiveness today before there is no dinar or dirham. If he has good deeds, they will be taken from his good deeds according to the amount of his injustice. If he has no good deeds, the bad deeds of his brother will be taken and placed upon him.
Reported by al-Bukhari in his Sahih.
It is obligatory for the Muslim to beware of shirk (associating partners with Allah) and its means, and all sins; because he may be tested with some of that and then not be granted success in repenting. Therefore, he must beware of everything Allah has forbidden him, and ask his Lord for well-being regarding that, and not be lenient with Satan by proceeding to sins with the intention of repenting from them. There is no doubt that this is deception from Satan and embellishment of falling into sins under the claim that he will repent from them. The servant may be punished and prevented from doing so, and he will regret to the utmost degree, and his remorse will be great when regret is of no avail.
And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
And fear Me alone.
[Surah al-Baqarah: 40] And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
And Allah warns you of Himself
[Surah Ali 'Imran: 28] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.
[Surah Fatir: 5 - 6] There are many verses in this meaning.
May Allah protect you from the evil of your soul, and shield you from the whispers of Satan.
