Whoever claims that Allah has permitted songs and musical instruments has lied

Q: What is the ruling on what some people do, gathering around musical instruments such as the oud, the violin, the drum, and the like, along with the songs added to them, while claiming that this is permissible?
Answer: The Qur'anic verses and Prophetic hadiths have indicated the condemnation of songs and musical instruments and the warning against them. The Noble Qur'an has guided that their use is among the causes of misguidance and taking the verses of Allah in mockery, as Allah the Exalted said: [Luqman: 6]. Most scholars have interpreted "idle talk" as songs and musical instruments, and any sound that diverts from the truth. It is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Sahih al-Bukhari 5590 And musical instruments are: songs and musical instruments.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that at the end of time, people will come who will consider them lawful, just as they consider intoxicants, unlawful sexual intercourse, and silk lawful. This is among the signs of his prophethood (peace and blessings be upon him), for all of this has occurred. The hadith indicates the prohibition of them and the condemnation of whoever considers them lawful, just as it condemns whoever considers intoxicants and unlawful sexual intercourse lawful. The verses and hadiths warning against songs and musical instruments are very numerous.
Whoever claims that Allah has permitted songs and musical instruments has lied and committed a great evil. We ask Allah for safety from obeying desires and Satan.
And greater than that, uglier, and a more severe crime is saying that they are recommended. There is no doubt that this is ignorance of Allah and ignorance of His religion, rather it is boldness against Allah and lying about His Shari'ah. It is only recommended to strike the hand drum in marriage for women specifically, to announce it and distinguish it from unlawful sexual intercourse. There is no harm in women's songs among themselves with the hand drum, if those songs do not encourage evil or discourage an obligatory duty. It is required that this be among themselves without mixing with men, and without announcement that harms the neighbors and causes them distress. What some people do of announcing it through the loudspeaker is an evil; because of the harm to the Muslims, the neighbors and others. It is not permissible for women in weddings or otherwise to use anything other than the hand drum from musical instruments, such as the oud, the violin, the rebab, and the like. Rather, that is an evil. The dispensation for them is only in using the hand drum specifically.
As for men, it is not permissible for them to use any of that, not in weddings nor in anything else. Allah has prescribed for men training in the instruments of war, such as archery, horse riding, and racing with them, and other war tools, such as training in the use of spears, shields, tanks, and airplanes, and other things like shooting with cannons, machine guns, and bombs, and everything that aids in jihad in the path of Allah.
And I ask Allah to rectify the conditions of the Muslims, and to make them successful in understanding His religion and learning what benefits them in fighting their enemy, and defending their religion and their homelands. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.

And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
