The Comparison Between the Shari'ah and Man-Made Law

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is comparing the Shari'ah with man-made law considered a diminishment of the Shari'ah?

A: If the comparison is for a noble purpose, such as demonstrating the comprehensiveness of the Shari'ah, its elevated status, and its superiority over man-made laws, and its inclusion of general benefits, then there is no harm in it. This is because it reveals the truth, persuades the callers to falsehood, and exposes the falsity of their claims in calling for man-made laws, or their claim that this era is not suitable for the Shari'ah, or that its time has passed. For this noble and good purpose, and to clarify what deters those people and shows the invalidity of what they are upon, and to reassure the hearts of the believers and firm them upon the truth, there is no objection to comparing the Shari'ah with man-made laws, provided that it is done by scholars and people of insight who are known for sound creed, good conduct, and extensive knowledge of the sciences of the Shari'ah and its great objectives.
